Hamburg

Hamburg is the San Francisco to Berlin's Los Angeles. Smaller, about 1.3 million people, a harbor/port town. Its fine, no Berlin (just like SF is no LA).
Had lunch at Parlament (first pic), a restaurant in the basement of the Hamburg Rathaus (City Hall). Had a salad with artichokes, Hamburger Pannfisch, which is whitefish pan fried with a mustard sauce and potatoes. Had a Bitburger Pils, two glasses of a South African Shiraz, and an Oban singlemalt for dessert.
Did a bus city tour, but it was all in German so it was a waste of time.
Hamburg has a red light district, like Amsterdam (hmm, port towns, huh?) but its really nothing like Amsterdam. Its just a bunch of seedy sex shops and strip joints, and street whores. No coffee bars, no canals, not cool looking like Amsterdam Redlight. Just nasty. Kinda like the corner of Santa Monica Blvd & La Brea blvd in Hollywood.
