Mysore Palace

A really big palace. We did a tour of the Bangalore palace a few days prior, and while fairly interesting, it was less than impressive. This place is pretty impressive. Huge, sprawling, with manicured lawns. Of course, India figures out how to fuck it up a bit. Once you get past the lawn area, there's a window with cubicles built onto the wall where you are suppose to leave your camera. That's right, just go ahead and leave your incredibly expensive camera behind on this wall next to your sandals. And beyond the security implications of this procedure; why, I ask you? Its a tourist spot that they don't allow pictures of. What does this place think it is, Calcutta? But, luckily, there's nothing to take pictures of inside. Oh, wait, no, there is AWESOME stuff to take pictures of. Like getting to ride a gd elephant around the palace grounds, for one. Which was very fun. And then the elephant takes the money from you with his trunk and hands it up to the guy on his head, and then pats you on the head with his trunk. I can't imagine why you would want to take any pictures of that, though, so good thing you can't have a camera.
