Stayed at the Taj Sumudra in Colombo. An older but very nice 5 star right on the ocean. The water is too rough and breaks too close to the beach to go in where the Taj is though, so if your itinerary while in Colombo includes walking from your hotel room into the ocean, you should stay farther south in the city.
